Itinerary:
The full day trip to Imlil village in the Atlas Mountains is one of the best excursions from Marrakech to escape the bustle of the city and live simple and calm day in the authentic side of morocco with Berbers.
Our Imlil full day trip will start at 09h Am from your accommodation in Marrakech by an air-conditioned SUV or Mini Van for one hour and half drive south up the Moulay Ibrahim Gorges, and the Berber villages of Tahnnaout and Asni very popular for their weekly market then to Imlil Crossing a vibrant green valley that stays fresh even during the summer.
Imlil is a small village at the foothills of the high Atlas Mountains, especially the highest peak in Morocco and Africa, Toubkal Mountain. Imlil is the center to hire mountain guides and horses due to it is considered as a center and its connection to the other Berber villages and a very popular start point of treks and hikes for climbing Toubkal Mountain.
When we arrive to Imlil where we will leave our vehicle and start an easy walk for around one hour to the Berber village of Armed where we shall stop to visit this village in the valley called Aït Mizane Valley, overlooking ancient irrigated terraced fields of barley, corn and vegetables and always surrounded by almond and walnut trees. We then continue our way for another Half an Hour to get to an other beautiful village which is Achayn where we will have lunch, that will be served on top of beautiful terrace among a Berber family.
Afterwards you can have a short walk before we take our way to explore Lalla Takerkoust, the quiet Berber town on a big lake then we return to your accommodation in Marrakech in the late evening.
